The SPINNER U5-630, in combination with our flexible automation, enables flexible production of valve parts in a wide variety of sizes and variants.
The cast housings are placed on Euro pallets, where the robot uses a camera to detect the position of the workpieces. This allows the workpieces to be fed to the hydraulic clamping device in the correct position. Finished housings are placed back on the pallet by the robot. To increase autonomy and enable pallets to be loaded and unloaded during main processing time, the system has two pallet stations.
What to do if some of the workpieces have to be clamped manually
A special feature of this concept is the automatic changeover and detection of manual clamping devices. The machine is able to automatically select the correct machining program as soon as a manual clamping device is inserted by the robot. This ensures efficient and error-free machining in chaotic production of a wide variety of workpieces.
The manual clamping devices are provided via airlocks at the front of the system.
Focus on ease of setup
Furthermore, the concept also enables the automatic setup of hydraulic clamping devices by the robot. This saves time and effort and reduces the workload on employees.
Together with the quick-change system on the robot grippers, we were able to achieve a setup time of <5 minutes.
